What I work on
I built DebtOptimizerHub around a software-development approach to financial education: define the assumptions, make the calculation repeatable, test boundary cases, and explain where an estimate stops matching the complexity of a real account.
That work includes credit card payoff calculations, interest and average-daily-balance tools, minimum-payment estimates, balance-transfer and consolidation comparisons, debt-payoff strategy engines, budgeting and savings calculators, and the Debt Payoff Planner. I also build the datasets and analysis used in DebtOptimizerHub's original research.
Each comparison is designed to make the inputs, assumptions, result, and limitations clear before a reader decides what to investigate next.
How I verify the calculations
Calculator accuracy is treated as a software-quality problem. The site uses automated regression tests, targeted engine tests, boundary and failure-state checks, and manual browser testing where interaction or presentation matters. The research program adds independent verification for published datasets, including checksum manifests and certification reports that can be downloaded and inspected.
The Calculation Methodology & Verification page explains the formulas, rounding rules, test coverage, independent research checks, known limitations, and a worked example that can be reproduced outside the site.
Original research
DebtOptimizerHub publishes scenario-based research built from the same kinds of repayment questions the calculators are designed to answer. Each published study includes its methodology, downloadable data, verification files, limitations, and supporting charts.
- Balance Transfer Scenarios — analysis of 25,000 balance-transfer scenarios, including fee, promotional-period, payment, and post-promotional APR effects.
- Extra Payment in $25 Increments — analysis of 12,000 payoff scenarios showing how additional fixed payments change payoff time and interest.
What I don't claim
DebtOptimizerHub is a financial education project. I build software, calculation tools, and explanations that help people compare repayment scenarios. I don't present myself as a CFP, CPA, attorney, lender, credit counselor, or debt-settlement provider, and the site doesn't replace account-specific terms or individualized professional advice.
Software verification can show that an implementation follows its documented rules; it can't establish the terms of a reader's actual credit card, loan, tax situation, legal rights, or eligibility for a financial product.
Editorial responsibility
I write and maintain DebtOptimizerHub's guides, calculator explanations, methodology documentation, and research. When a claim depends on an outside rule, statistic, disclosure, or organization, the page should identify the source. When a claim comes from DebtOptimizerHub's own calculation or research, the relevant assumptions and methodology should be available for review.
The Editorial Policy explains sourcing, updates, commercial independence, and correction standards. If you find a calculation issue, unclear explanation, or source that needs review, you can report it through the contact page.
